Change your password? People should be doing that every 6 months to a year but nobody I know does it. If you reused that password anywhere else, I’d change the other ones too.

None of that is my stuff. I have no idea why it came to my email. I’ve got 2FA on my Gmail.

I had originally wanted “t ymn” but it was already taken. No idea what is going on with this. Never heard of that florence business before.

Hmm ok. Once or twice I have had people use my email account to set up social media accounts in their name. This sounds more like they did that, not logging into your Gmail directly.
I usually ping them directly in the ac count and ask them to update their info like that email address a couple of times.
If that fails to do the trick than since all password resets are done through email addresses, I reset their password, log in, leave a cheeky message like “I don’t know how to update my account info” and then wait for a response. At the very least, at that point, you can go in and change the email yourself.
Otherwise, filtering those notifications directly to spam might be the other worthy alternative.

It does. I’ve been receiving emails from some prepaid phone card company in India who uses the first part of my gmail address but with a period stuck in it. Apparently, Google ignores the period. Nothing shows up on any credit cards or anything, so I’m just ignoring it.

I’ve been receiving emails from a prepaid phone card company in India. Somebody used my email to set up an account, they just put a period in the first part of the address, which google ignores. Nothing has been charged to my credit cards, so I just send those emails straight to the trash.

When you sign up for online stuff drop random periods so you know which companies are selling your email address.

Was it sent to not quite your gmail but yours with extra dots in it? Because some dumbass hasn’t yet realized that gmail doesn’t care and keeps trying to use firstinitialDOTmylastname. It took me YEARS to convince Verizon to stop emailing me every time dude’s kid rented paw patrol episodes.
Hah ok I see below you’ve had this issue too!

I own a domain and have it set up so that any emails not on my approved list get dumped straight to a junk email box. I get emails all the time where people create random addresses to my domain since the domain is only five letters long, but uses only two letters of the alphabet.
The funniest was a lady who created a directTV account and all of her bills were coming to my domain. It took several months to get that straightened out. I tried calling her and having her initiate the correction, but they kept sending the confirmations to the wrong email address. I eventually hopped into her account and changed the email directly, then had her contact them to confirm the change.

That should have earned you a merit badge.
Beautiful morning at AUS today, with some nice photos of planes and primroses. You need to fly in sometime.
